Data Mapping and Business Process Analysis

Data Mapping and Business Process Analysis

The goal of this assignment was to adapt the SDG Lab's data mapping and business process analysis methodology to the specific needs of the project, and to conduct a thorough data mapping and analysis of business processes related to road safety in Armenia. This task required a comprehensive review of road safety procedures, databases, and data across multiple key institutions, including the RA Police, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the Road Department Fund, the Armenian Motor Insurers’ Bureau, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Yerevan Municipality. The focus was on identifying how these institutions managed road safety data and how their systems could be better integrated to streamline data flows and improve safety outcomes.

A significant part of the project involved a deep dive into the RA Police’s Operational Management System, analyzing not only its internal data processes but also how it could connect with other relevant institutions and databases outside the system. The goal was to identify opportunities for data integration, allowing for a more cohesive and efficient approach to managing road safety information. By mapping out the data landscape and analyzing the workflows of each institution, the team developed recommendations for improving data coordination and integration across the different entities involved. This analysis aimed to create a more unified system for road safety management, ultimately contributing to better coordination and decision-making among all relevant stakeholders.
