Accreditation of Training Providers: Best Practices and Applicability in the Armenian Context

The review of the National Training System (NTS) for municipal servants is a key focus of the program. Over recent years, GIZ has made considerable efforts to enhance this system, implementing several initiatives to support its development.

- Established the HR/NTS (Human Resources/National Training System) Working Group in 2016.

- Conducted an assessment of the current state and challenges of the NTS and HR systems at the local level.

- Undertook a pilot Training Needs Assessment (TNA) in two municipalities, Dilijan and Tegh.

- Organized a conference in Yerevan in June 2017.

- Developed a Concept Paper for the revision of the NTS in Armenia in 2018.

- Carried out TNA in 40 local self-governments (LSGs).

- Initiated training programs for staff secretaries to conduct TNA.

- Reviewed the accreditation system for training providers in Armenia.
