On May 17, the Agency for Personal Data Protection of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia presented its official website and an online course on personal data protection in Yerevan. The event, attended by representatives of government institutions and higher educational institutions, aimed to improve awareness of personal data protection.
The online course was developed in collaboration with the Agency for Personal Data Protection, the Civil Service Office, and the Electronic Governance Infrastructure Implementation Office, with funding from the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ).
Grigor Nersisyan, Head of the Agency, emphasized the importance of launching the website to establish direct communication with citizens and stakeholders. Hrachik Yarmaloyan, Regional Program Coordinator for GIZ, highlighted the significance of the new platform and the online course, which is the first of its kind in the Eastern Partnership region.
Julieta Matevosyan, Head of the Agency’s department, noted that while the course was initially designed for public servants, it is now available to everyone, including private sector employees and students. The course, consisting of seven modules with tests and audiovisual components, is accessible on the Pdpa.am website.
